Spring 2010

Our journalists' blogs

Student journalists traveled in Spring Semester 2010 to National Park Service sites in several states — as far east as Florida and New York, as far south as Louisiana, and as far west as California.

In March and April, a number of our students visited Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve in New Orleans and the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park. One member of our group traveled to Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California and another went to Ellis Island National Historical Site in New York City. Another writer visited the African Burial Ground National Memorial in Lower Manhattan in New York City. Still other writers and photographers spent time at South Florida's Everglades National Park, Biscayne National Park, and the Big Cypress National Preserve.

The blog entries linked on this page are written by the writers and photographers about their trips for this website. The photographs above and below are from our work in New Orleans. We hope you will enjoy reading our stories and viewing our photographs and multimedia content.
